Can't help wondering what it's for. Nowhere near as good on road as either the much cheaper GT3 or indeed GT3RS and in reality little better on track. Won't be competitive in any meaningful race series. Odd choice for track days - you usually want a track day car to work on road too so what's it for? If you're prepared to have a track only car for track days then it'll get dusted by Radicals, Caterhams etc. at a fraction of the price. As has already been said if Aston produced a GT3 equivelant eg. a car that retained some of the elements of civility and style that make an Aston whilst offering more performance and 'edge' than the standard AMV8 I'd be at the head of the queue. As it is I'm doubling up with an AMV8 Roadster and an R400. Well at least until my GT2 arrives!wink
Hmmm an Amv8 executed like the new lambo superleggera, now that would be something..

The N24 sits nicely in the AMOC race series. Cheaper to run than a DB4.

However it doesn't seem right to pitch up in an N24 and blow gorgeous old DB4s and the like away. Pitched against contemporary race machinery currently racing in Brit.GTs for example the N24 wouldn't hack it so I come back to the fact that as a pure race car it doesn't succeed but neither does it work as a road track car like the GT3 and GT3RS.

I think youre all missing the point. There is a series specifically for these cars, GT4. Next year there will be a european series run by the FIA. It is a budget entry to GT racing, OK so its around 100k but if the price scares you buy the Mustang or one of the other eligible cars. As for it not being the fastest etc, they are also eligible for 2 or 3 24hr races where its reliability would make up for its supposed lack of speed. If you feel like it - drive to the race, change the tyres etc and away you go.

I think that is pretty much what most are saying, as a racing car (e.g. for the GT4 series)it makes sense, but as a road & track-day car it doesn't!

Note to oneself - read the posts thoroughly.... smile

Give it a chance, its not properly set up yet, it doesnt even come with adjustable dampers! There is plenty more to come out of this car before we shoot it down though...

I think that, sometimes, people take the friendly and considered discussion/exchange of views on here too seriously - a little too black and white if you will. This isn't the Porsche Forum you know! So, despite saying that the car's not for me, and explaining why, I'm not saying someone else would be wrong to buy one or that it's rubbish. Indeed I would be envious of anyone who aquired an N24.smile Just keep out of my way on track that's all.wink
