A chum of mine snuck in to Blenheim Palace last night where they were apparently filming for the new Bond movie. These were segregated from the rest under further "security".

It's called Amethyst Red, slightly lighter than the colour of an Aubergine with a red metallic fleck. According to paper work that came from Aston with the car, it was the only one ordered in this colour in 2009, so quite rare.

Can't say I particularly like the appearance of them. Perhaps they look odd to my eyes without a number plate but, no, I don't like that. frown

My old V8 was Amethyst Violet and as with yours, it was apparently the only one in that colour. The dealer told me it was a Mercedes paint but not sure if that's correct. The person who had the car before me wasn't short of a bob or two so he could probably have whatever he wanted. Stunning colour in the sun. Wish I could have had the V12V in the same colour combo.

Some one-offs dubbed the DB10 based on the V8V that Aston have made for the new Bond movie.

I'm with you, the front grill seems too low to keep the classic shape

If they wanted to swap my V8V for one, I'd probably say yes though

My goodness that is very striking. Do you think it matches the owners red trousers?

Don't think so, it's clearly got a replacement hood. Old money types would patch up the old Mohair to make it last.

Of course! smile

Reminds me of the insult by the old Tories who accused Maggie Thatcher of having to buy her own furniture.

Achully it was Heseltine they were referring to. The they being Nicholas Soames and Alan Clark. Maggie never tried to be grand in the way Heseltine did.
