Quite. Applying the Heritage concept to Gaydon cars is where the problem stems from. The concept of a concours measure of a Gaydon car should look instead at, <etc.>

Is this an absolute fact? I don't enter Gaydon but I thought Mark had done a great job with AMOC's concours events. Perhaps this simply needs mentioning to him if it's an issue?

If the factory stuck the tape on and there is proof of this (listed on a build sheet) then it should be there. If the dealer put the tape on before the car was registered and there is proof that they did so (pre-inspection sheet and invoice), then it should be there. If it was put on afterwards, or there is no proof that it was done beforehand, then it will lose marks. Simples.
