Seen this morning ...A very unexpected sight in a random part of South East London!
Looking at the plate, it's AMLs car i think?

I couldn't possibly comment... But it certainly brightened up my morning and stopped us in our tracks on the way to Sunday morning football.

Here is our beauty - and found out from the AM factory last week, that this is the
ONLY Vantage in this colour (Ferrari Grigio Alloy) in the ENTIRE WORLD!

I do hope my news will not disappoint you too much.

Your car is still very beautiful, but it does appear to have at least one twin.

Perhaps your Vantage might be the only manual (Grigio Alloy - Ferrari) in the ENTIRE WORLD!

The Sportshift Roadster now shown on the pre-owned list, also has a different colour interior.

Tut - can't even trust AML's own records... but ours is still just one of two V8VRs and six AMs in the ENTIRE WORLD in this colour... unless anyone knows better? rolleyes

What's the background to AMs being painted in a colour named after another car manufacturer?

I don't believe the color is named after another manufacturer, rather it is the other manufacturer's color. You call up Aston and tell them you want your new car painted in a Ferrari color (or any other manufacturer).

It's because the AM configurator only shows 50 shades of grey which quite simply isn't enough these days so people look elsewhere for inspiration. wink

Grey? Where does Grey come into it?

Anyway, latest news on this shade of blue on AMs - my bubble is burst frown I am truly disappointed weeping

The man at AML now tells me that having used various other search strings on his database he can confirm there are actually 63 AMs in Ferrari's Grigio Alloy in the ENTIRE WORLD - of which 23 are V8Vs - 15 Coupe & 8 Roadster.
The UK has 14 of them - 10 V8V Coupe & 4 Roadster.

How disappointing is that? laugh
BTW - Richard has insisted that I own up to writing these entries... Marilyn. wavey

:

So, your car is 1 of only 4 UK Roadsters. That is very special.

Judging by the Pre-owned lists, black must be the most common AM colour, or it could perhaps mean, the owners keep selling their cars.

I was surprised to read on this forum questions from people asking about what colour AM they 'should' buy - surely everyone buys the one they fall in love with? rotate

This could be a whole new thread: Why did you choose your particular AM?

AMs are colour sensitive when it comes to resale, unusual colours can take a long time to sell on.
Obviously one does not choose a colour one dislikes but as blacks and greys suit Astons anyway it's no big deal.
There is also the fact that most Astons are in the"usual suspects colourways"so unless one is speccing the car the choice is often limited.i

Random kit at the Louwman Exclusive used car dept

The V12 appeals but to my eye the V8 has it all.

Still no bad choice for a daily and GT.
