have laid the "tileplan " flooring in my cave and its a superb item and well worth the money. I did paint my floor initially but it lifted off so I changed tactics and have never looked back.

I can supply you with details of who supplied me if your interested and get a FREE no obligation quote from them.

Cheers

Yes please for the details, I'm still open to suggestions on what to do for the best result. I have been thinking of laying porcelain tiles, all I know is it needs something to just finish it off especially now it has the V8V living in there smile

www.tileplan.co.uk

Point of contact would be a guy called Colin who is the boss there. Really top bloke he is and he helped me out no end with my project.

I went for the 7mm harder wearing pvc interlocking tiles which are just awesome. Have you seen my pictures on this previous page of this thread???

It took me 2 days to lay it all with minor trim cuts to the outer wall edges of the Red tiles and then to stick the Black rubber skirting on afterwards to finish it all off. Its dead easy to keep clean too as all you need is a mop and bucket or a good hoover which I use mostly.

The total cost of all my flooring delivered to my door on a pallet was £1600 which was excellent. You can easily lift out a tile should you need to and just snap one back in like a big jigsaw puzzle where as with porcelain tiles you cant do this as they are grouted in and stuck down hence why my friend is now suffering with accidental damage.

Comfort and the abilty to spend lots of time in there was a major planning point.

PM me if you wanna chat offline more.I would advise AGAINST porcelain tiles as my friend has laid those in his cave and damaged loads of them already.

Cheers

As always there's a different point of view. Porcelain tiles are used widely in car showrooms and you can imagine the use they get. I fitted my garage out in them 3 years ago and have had no problems at all. They are easy to clean and make the floor look...well like a car showroom!laugh

Lovely floor, but all what's going on with all that stuff packed onto the shelves just waiting to fall off onto your boot-lid! Is that a set of golf clubs on the lowest shelf? If so, you are a braver man than me!

+1, a disaster waiting to happen there. Each to their own though.

In car showrooms they would look nice agreed but they do not use trolley jacks and axles stands etc on those surfaces which is why I personally did not go for them in my cave albeit my friend did against my advice and now he is paying the price for his mistake.

frankiev12vs, you need to have a tidy up!! LOL

LOL guys you're right. I don't use trolley jacks or axle stands...just park the car (and golf clubs) on the floor. They're safe, the shelving is from IKEA and the bags are empty!

Another vote for Porcelain here. Completely impractical, but makes the car look even more sexy. biggrin

Adam, it is Sea Storm and I only know of one other Rapide that's in this colour, so not many about. Not sure if that's a good thing or not! scratchchin I'll unashamedly provide you a link to more pics just after I picked her up. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Agreed the Porcelin tiles look fantastic but ONLY if the room where the car is being kept is just for that ONLY and nothing else which would necessitate the use of tools and jacks etc.

Mirror floor tiles were an option I had thought about but decided against in the end when I bought the 4 poster lift ramp.

I did get a quote from Racedeck initially but it nearly gave me a bloody heart attack so after some looking and recommendations from other car nut friends I went with www.tileplan.co.uk who were superb it has to be said and if you look on their website its clear to see who and how big a scale they cater for with their product which is the same thing really as the Racedeck product albeit ALOT cheaper.

Cheers
