Vantage V12 Corsa tyre discussion: your thoughts.

as said immediately above, just have to watch yourself a little with cross in cold/damp but perfectly manageable
to answer the question, trofeo rs are not approved by AM and in fact, had to get a marginally different size for the fronts - IIRC I went 245 instead of 255
they were stunning on track compared to the corsas - I did half a day in each and the difference was significant

I've been persevering with the Corsa's seeing as our winter has been so mild but after the mother of all tank slappers today I've surrendered and ordered a set of regular Pirelli P Zero, AM8 marked.
Kwik fit had a set of 4 on the shelf for £770 inc VAT, fitting, nitrogen, disposal valves etc.
I am very happy with that price and after fitting on Monday I will report back with a user update.

Well, its a no brainer!!!!!
If you're going to use your Vantage V12S in the winter months then you NEED to swap to standard (Non Corsa) AM8 P-Zero tyres.
The difference is night and day.
They have transformed the car.
I will put the Corsa's back on in May

Good to know. Specifically though, any comments on the difference while accelerating hard from a standstill in the wet? I don't have an issue with the Corsas apart from that.
I don't think they've invented a tyre that can cope with hard acceleration in the wet from low speed in a V12 Aston!! The V12VS is generally still spinning its wheels in the wet in 4th gear, whether on P Zero Sotto [winter], P Zero, or Corsa.Flugplatz said:

Grange just quoted me £1,392 for the Michelins... Kwik fit had a set of 4 on the shelf for £770 inc VAT, fitting, nitrogen, disposal valves etc.

Off to Kwik Fit I go...
I see they've made a big difference. Can't wait.

Errr, the Pirelli P-Zero is a different tyre to the Pirelli P-Zero Rosso. There are 4 versions of the P-Zero, the std, the Corsa, the Nero and the Rosso.http://www.pirelli.com/tyres/en-gb/car/find-your-t...

Not heard of anybody fitting Rosso's to a V12V before? In fact I'm not even sure the Rosso is available in the V12V rear size?

£770 all in fitted inc nitrogen etc Kwik Fit.
JCT600 Leeds charged me £815 for a full set of PZeros (non Corsa) at the end of Nov - that was supplied, fitted and balanced! The price fluctuates quite a bit (I was quoted £870 a month earlier) so Id suggest you give Tina a call on service if you need a set and want to go to a relatively local main dealer. I've got no regrets at all in switching away from the Corsa's they are just way too compromised for the UK climate.Flugplatz said:

Is the general consensus that the P-Zeros and the Michelins are equally as good? Or do they have slightly different characteristics to each other?
I'm actually more of a Michelin fan generally but was swayed by the AM8 marking.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
