Every specialist I’ve spoken with, in fact everyone I know who’s respected in the car world says the same about cars with particularly low miles. It doesn’t do them any good.
And yet strangely, low miles cars usually carry a price premium . jakesmith said:

After using more conventional methods ie phone or dropping in to see face to face it seems they are bombarded with online questions and I assume a huge number are never going to result in business.
That’s the trouble with the media connected world we live in and small companies probably don’t have the resources to screen and respond to it all.
Besides, I’ve found a much better customer workshop relationship when I’ve chosen the guys I’d like to work on my vehicles.

Mike was on fire in this video! The part where he's making fun of the "Bentley Sustainable Christmas Dinner" made me genuinely laugh out loud!

Hi Mike,
I would really love your feed back and input, was having
The throttle forced limited power error code come up
On my Aston Martin Db9. I ran loads of checks, found I
Have no volts going to injector 3, and infinite resistance coming from the coolant sensor, so repaired the connector fault, and replaced the sensor, however
The car will start and then cut out seconds later. None
Of the injectors have a consistent resistance reading, and all are above 17 ohms.
Regards
SG

Hi Bamford-rose
My newly purchased 2011 Rapide has done 70k miles, despite being recently serviced they never changed the plugs. My assumption is it's still on its original plugs.
The car drives well and has no apparent misfires but decided to use the misfire function on my Thinkdiag to give me an idea about the coils prior to pulling the manifolds etc to do the plugs. The last owner said some of the coils have been changed but there's no documentation for this.
I ran the misfire function today on a run and wondered if you could provide any advice.
I've attached the log from my drive today, one cylinder stands out (listed as 4). This was over a 70 mile trip, in the first 5 miles it hit 25 misfires and the rest showed up during 45 miles of motorway highway cruising and around 20 miles of harder back road driving.
Any advice? I wondered if it's due to having the original plugs. Having watched your video the misfire counts were in the 100's after a short time. Not 67 after 1.5 hours of driving.

My feeling is that the first video was misjudged and the second video you linked to is cringeworthy.I was in a AM main agent last week and the subject of BR came up and the chap I was speaking to was surprised as building your reputation by rubbishing everyone else is doomed to fail.
Though Mike seems to have strong feelings on this subject it strikes me that, and as previous posters have mentioned that they couldn’t get hold of BR that the communication situation hasn’t improved.
It’s an area that could lead BR into hot water, as the comment about ‘Her Majesty’s Pleasure’ coming straight after a question which names McGurk isn’t as clever as I suspect Mike thinks he is being.
I have never met Mike, but have met a lot of good Aston people at dealers and specialists over the last 20 years and he comes across as arrogant and petulant.
I’m sure he is a brilliant person to look after your car but the impression I get from the videos isn’t a good one.
Indeed.
My thoughts for what they’re worth.
Fair play for being brave enough to potentially tell it how it is in a day where nobody really does.
Bit silly perhaps from a potential legal point of view.
Let your own work do the talking instead of putting others down. Although, if true, maybe he sees it as a public service..
Who knows, i too do not know Mike and therefor what is going on in his head.

I watched both videos and commented on both (J rather than J2 as referred too in his video)
Fact is rubbishing others hardly ever works, it is far better to be respectfull about your competition.
As stated those garages I mention all have AMDS and seemingly know how to use it.
As with many things in life you speak as you find and recommendation through word of mouth carries a lot of weight.
I personally feel Mike has been foolhardy in his two videos and should perhaps take note of those who do wish to use his services but can't due to poor communication or lack thereof.

Yeah, it could be taken as a bit rich from a company that never answers their phone and could atleast get a receptionist Fact is rubbishing others hardly ever works, it is far better to be respectfully about your competition.

Check out the balance sheets of both companies and then decide where you would rather leave your car/who runs the more credible business.I was in a AM main agent last week and the subject of BR came up and the chap I was speaking to was surprised as building your reputation by rubbishing everyone else is doomed to fail.

Hi, Bamford Rose, I've just suffered my first dead battery episode on the V8 Vantage, it started easily after boosting it from my trusty Mercedes W124, but now I seem to have an 'Alarm system service required' message on the dash that won't go away. Any ideas on how to reset this please as I can no longer see my mpg, range etc.
Thank you
Thank you
