Removing the rear parcel shelf on my AMV8 Vantage
Discussion
Flick the thin side threads off the rear hatch.
Fold the articulated flap back on itself (ie towards the front of the car).
Pull the little red tag that you will see towards you and the shelf should drop fully. The tag retracts a couple of pegs that hold the shelf into slots to the side.
Pull it firmly out (2x ball and sockets attach it to the rear bulkhead).
It's shaped, more or less, to sit on the boot floor folded up.

Mine seems to rattle a bit (I also note that the parcel shelf is ever so slightly bowed). I don't have any pull tags, you simple fold the flap over and slide the shelf up, back and down to get it out. The pegs (all four) seem to be greased with something. The pegs are not a tight fit and this is, I think, where the rattle comes from. I've left it on the boot floor for the moment so the next time I drive it I'll see if the clonking/rattle noise has gone.
