Think the made Fwd and 4wd versions of the NA V6, all VR4s are 4wd.

V6 24 valve with the 160bhp 2.5 is front wheel drive. As said VR4 is 4wd.

Easy way to tell is that the vanilla has 4 stud wheels/hubs, the VR4 is 5. Obviously, the turbo pipework under the bonnet and the dirty great plaggy moulding on the engine cover saying 'Twin Turbo' are also tell tale signs.

Cheap track fun? The Galant is not the car you are looking for. Pick up a cheap MR2 or MX5 if it needs to be jap.

I was planning on sticking mine (manual, R plate, 83k, 12 months MOT) on eBay this week actually if you're still on the hunt for one, although I was aiming for ~£800. It's not quite economical enough for me to justify subjecting it to the 60 mile round trip to university come september, but otherwise an alright car - the 6A13's make a nice noise at least!
