Morning all,

Quick question.

RX8 - as a daily driver, low miles, 2 know owners so on paper its the right car.

What can I expect to return mpg, I know they are not the best on fuel but on a motorway commute to work, cruising at a general 75mph who should I see????

Current Saab Aero returns 30mpg average.

Cheers

James

That is quite varied,

Can I expect to see mid 20's on a motorway run?

Around 20mpg but if you do boot it for a bit of fun it will be down into the low teens.

Mid 20's will be the best you could get. Expect to get around 225 miles from a full tank on a motorway run. The car has a 50 litre tank and that equates to around 22mpg

Cheers guys.

Are there any difference between the 192 and 231 variants apart from the engine power of course.

Any kit differences/suspension etc etc

On a typical motorway cruise .... i.e. 3 lanes of rush hour traffic where every fker weaves from lanes 1-3 plus 10 minutes of spirited driving after the M60 / M61 interchange ... 25 mpg

Mine averaged 20mpg overall and would do 25-27mpg on the motorway.

Motorway journeys at 70ish will give me about 260-270 miles from a tank which is about 24 mpg. Short journeys will give 16-18. Thrashing it makes very little difference to babying it.

Man this isnt good.

I really really want an RX8 but it just looks liks it going to be to costly to use to commute in.

The Saab Aero at 30mpg needs filling up enough.

Just for comparison, our Saab Aero does 26-27mpg day to day. We run it on super. The RX-8 just needs 95 RON.

We got low 20's out of ours, which was about the same as our Saab 95 aero....

Maybe my 95 is higher average due to doing a 500mile a week commute on motorway and fast A and B roads.

18-21mpg. Only went below 18 when the cat on my first 231 started to fail. Any drastic drop should have you checking compression, coils or catalyst (the latter gives a dramatic drop in performance, you'll know!).

Once got 27mpg. Once!

Cheers,

Not 100% sure but it seemed to use just a little more then the Aero on my commute this week so somewhere in the mid 20's I guess.
