Quick Question RX8 or Civic EP3
Discussion
THe Saab is quicker in what sense? Straight line? Because that's boring. Corners? Not a hope. i kind of admire Saabs but never had any love for them. A neighbour is besotted with them for some reason, though, so they do seem to split opinions. Only ever driven a Saab 900 Turbo. It was.....well......horrible! Sorry.
Sorry, but having owned both I can only think that either you're trolling or you've driven neither. The Saab handles ok for a fwd barge, the rx-8 handles exceptionally well full stop. They just aren't comparable, you buy the Saab because it's comfortable and practical (and very cheap).
It probably doesn't help that I prefer rear drive and think turbocharged four cylinder engines are inherently st. The Saab is a great car for what we use it for - practical, comfortable A-B transport - but it is only able to replace the RX-8 in combination with the Elise (and I still miss the rotary engine).
We having owned both now, and after a couple of weeks having the RX8 I can confirm this.
My 93 TID sport, brilliant economy and I do miss that, it handled really very well TBH.
95 aero, it was very quick, not just off the mark but its over taking power was brilliant, and I do miss that delivery for over taking but the 93 was more confident in the corners as the 95 was a bit of a barge.
RX8, different car and different league of cars but after 2 weeks, the handling is the best I have ever had, RWD is twitchy in the wet but as discussed it is down to the tyres, but the stability control is very good. Power, it has plenty and I have not found that having little torque has any adverse effect when you can just keep revving it. It has also proved practical, my 1yr old daughter goes in, her large pram, and all the other bit we have to cart about plus I am averaging 25mpg.
