Hi and a belated congrats on the new car.
The drivers seat issue seems to be a design fault mine has had 2 seat subframes replaced under warranty and it still has a little play in it..
Has anyone bought the used car approved warranty recently? Reading still don't seem to know anything and Hull never got back to me.

Good choice SIY! They are a lovely car. Did you buy privately or via a main dealer/independent? What colour did you go for? Funnily enough I have been thinking of selling mine as it's hardly used these days (3000 miles last year) I might put it up in the classifieds shortly.
The warranty situation is still a tricky one it would seem although I have run mine under the ICR approved warranty since the manufacturers warranty ceased and I have to say so far it has paid out on every occasion to the tune of several hundreds of pounds so I can't complain.

Hi Paul, try and get a drive of a V8 if you can, they are great cars. Good luck with the search.
After two and a half years I sold my FX 50 today, I was sad to see it go but it has just not been used over the last 12 months as we both now work from home. The new owner is a really nice guy, hopefully he will be on here to keep the thread updated in the future.

The gearbox fitted to the FX can be a little frustrating to use, it often wants to shift into a high gear very early under light throttle presumably for reasons of fuel economy. It can also often hunt between gears sometimes feeling a little confused about what's required of it. It works best when giving it the beans or of course you could use the paddle shift function.
I like th Colour, what Colour is the interior?

Good luck with your search. Funnily enough the guy I sold my FX50 to recently contacted me as he's looking to sell. It's the car I started this thread about, pictures of it are at the beginning. It's got full wheat interior and a lovely car!
If it's of interest I. Could put you in touch

Called me as well.
He really doesn't want to, but he's just changed jobs and the new company are very specific on what you can and cant have
It's a shame, i would have happily bought it back a few months ago as we needed a larger car again. I ended up buying an M3.5 h (q70 hybrid) which has turned out to be a brilliant family car.He really doesn't want to, but he's just changed jobs and the new company are very specific on what you can and cant have
Yes it was a 16 plate car.
Tricky trying to value these things, I'm guessing the market for 6 litre V8 Jeep is about as small as a 5 litre FX.. prices seem to vary considerably!
Entry money seems to be circa 30k for a 13/14 plate car, can't make my mind up if the FX is better value, trouble is the rear room and boot in the FX is so much more limited

A Roof box is an option for the FX I guess, I had an Infiniti branded one on my old car, but they are noisy!
The Cayenne is a lovely car DS but I'd be back to running a car outside of warranty with my budget (probably) after the ludicrous warranty position with Infiniti, I'd be keen to buy something that I could keep in warranty..

Hi folks - I'm new to this FX forum but have some previous experience with the Infiniti brand at Reading.
With a little one on the way the C Class W204 coupe needs to exit stage left - is anybody here looking to offload their 2012+ FX in the coming months?
Open to the 30d and 37 petrol - not sure the V8 is for me (but could be tempted!)
Would love to pick up an FX from one of the forum members here.
Thanks in advance - Dave
Dave I started this thread a few years ago when I was in a similar position. I've driven all 3 variants, the 37 will have most of the running costs of a 50 but felt a little lacking in power to me. The V8 is a Lovely engine, makes a nice noise and can return early 20's with sensible ish driving. I'd go for the V8, but they are rare cars to find. Thanks for the reply mate. The FX seems like a great value for money when you compare it to what else you can get for the money. It's a bonus that the design didn't change that much, so if you buy a 2010 and stick it on a private plate, it doesn't look much different to a new Qx70! It's also a bonus that it comes with the 3.7 or 5 litre petrols (though they're like hens teeth) - majority of SUVs from this era are diesel!
Quick question to owners about tyres, especially on the 21" rims. A few cars I've enquired about have said they're on Maxxis tyres! This is not a brand I'd ever heard of and a quick google suggests it's a tyre I wouldn't normally want to have on my car, especially with over 300bhp, but I assume it's down to the exorbitant cost of replacing 21" tyres with Pirelli etc. Does anyone have any first hand experience of Maxxis tyres on the FX? Is it a case of change them asap, or are they actually better than people think?
I can't comment on Maxxis tyres but it's good to hear that there is now more choice of brands. When I bought my FX50 5 years ago, the only choice were Dunlop and they were both in short supply and v expensive..Quick question to owners about tyres, especially on the 21" rims. The 37 is a good car, but hold out for the 50, the V8 just suits the car so well.
Good luck with your search!
