I have just had the drivers seat subframe replaced under warranty due to slight movement and squeaks.

The rear parcel shelf design is baffling!

I think it is a characteristic of the car for it to feel a little but on/off when using the throttle combined with a little bit of mechanical lash. The gearbox can sometimes get a little confused on light throttle openings to find the right gear. I had my gearbox settings refreshed at the last service but it has made no difference.

Sorry not had that problem. Sounds like a trip to the main dealer for a diagnostic hook up is required.

My steering wheel feels pretty good too.

Glad to hear that ICR have treated you well Andy, my recent experiences were not very positive but in fairness they have held their hands up and I did receive a couple of goodwill gestures.

I have just bought the ICR extended warranty, fingers crossed its worth the £700 if I have to claim.

Andy, sorry to hear you are moving on.

I agree with DS that somewhere around £25k is about right for a private sale, a dealer would have it up for just under £30k. Have you tried ringing around the dealer network to underwrite it? It's a rare car and not many for sale at the moment so they might have a punter looking for one?

Could you pm me re your winter tyres and how much you want for them?

Funnily enough, I was just about to post this and then checked back to the old thread and found Wookietaffs post.
Hi, still running ours, it's on 34000 now and everything has been fine with the exception of the gearbox... I haven't been happy with 'box for a while and had Reading take it back in again for a good poke around a few weeks ago. After a couple of days testing hooked up to a laptop they submItted the data to Japan. A couple of days later I got a call from Reading to say that Infiniti Japan had authorized a complete gearbox replace FOC as a goodwill gesture (car is now out of warranty) the box was replaced last week and car returned cleaned and polished. The new gearbox is a big improvement!
After having had some problems with Reading previously I have to say that my recent dealings have been really positive with them.

We did 700 miles in ours during half term to North Norfolk and the car was brilliant. It was absolutely stuffed with our holiday junk complete with new Infiniti roof box and 2 adults and one child. It was still effortlessly capable of dispatching 2 or 3 cars at a time for overtakes on Norfolk country roads and returned over 400 miles from one tank full of super unleaded in mixed driving! The rear screens I had installed last year proved really useful for the journey too.

Andy, how are you getting on with the SL63? My neighbour had a nearly new SL55 a few years ago and it was a proper Friday afternoon special. In the end Mercedes took it back it was so bad...

It doesn't like being left for more than three days without being used, if we do the battery is flat and needs to be jumped (it's a pain to remember to go and start and leave running for 20mins), a few other electrical problems-warnig lights, these all started when it got to 25k.
Has your dealer had a go at rectifying any of them?

It's been in a few times but the problems return after a few weeks, Reading don't seem to be able to find the faults to rectify them.
It's frustrating when that happens! So what will you replace it with when it goes back?

Luke, I should imagine its a Pre facelift car so it won't have the powered tailgate or lane departure that the slightly later cars have. Being very picky the service intervals are 10k or 12 months so it looks like the last service was done 6 months late but on time for mileage.

It seems fairly priced for a dealer car, have you seen the private car on eBay for £19995?

Wookietaff, I was never that happy with the way the gearbox shifted, it just seemed confused a lot of the time. I know that this gearbox doesnt have the best reputation in this regard but mine seemed more clumsy than most. Reading had it in a while back but couldn't find a fault. I asked them to have another look a couple of weeks ago and this time they road tested it extensively hooked up to a laptop to record the data. The results were sent to Infiniti Japan and I got a call a few days later to say that a replacement complete gearbox had been authorized as a goodwill gesture (car outside of manufacturers warranty by 4 months) I was obviously very pleased with the help that Reading gave me in sorting this out.
The gearbox didn't have a mechanical failure and I didn't really receive any run down as to what was actually wrong with it. The new 'box feels much better and far less confused, so fingers crossed that's my problem sorted!

Wookietaff, your comment about finding a car that offers so much for so little is exactly what drew me into buying one.
Have you talked to Reading about a trade in price? If so could I be so bold to ask what they might offer (pm if that suits)
It does look a lovely car, is it not worth a private advert on here?
