Currently looking at getting a petrol one of these, tested both the 1.2 and 1.6 today and whilst the 1.6 was obviously better for general driving I'm wondering what the general consensus from owners was?
Depends what you want. I've got the 1.2T and find it fine, even on the motorway. Put it in 6th, stick the cruise on and it will run along nicely. You need to work the gearbox if you want to make progress over the flow of traffic. If you’re willing to sacrifice fuel economy for some more oomph then go for the 1.6 – for me it made no sense in a family runabout.

my lease runs out in 12 months, so started to think about a replacement.

Has anyone tried the 1.6t Xtronic?

I really miss my having an autobox, but heard the xtronic is a bit naff.

as far as replacements other than another new QQ only really considering an x-trail or a Outlander PHEV

Does anyone use the auto parking function?, seems like probably an expensive function that nobody uses.

I do use it regularly for the bay parking. My car park is a tight space and it takes the effort out of squeezing the car in. I find it's not really worth the hassle for parallel parking.

I have never used it for bay parking yet. Tried it a couple of times parallel parking just to see what it was like. Clever stuff!.

Only used it to show friends really. Parking is so easy thanks to the 4 cameras that you dont really need auto park.

Hi all well most people are saying that the QQ is a great family car - I can't disagree at all! biggrin

However.....

I have a 1.6TD Tekna with the 19's & it's getting near front tyre replacement time... AFTER 12K miles!!! eek
Rears are currently on 5mm.
Pressures have always been correct - useful feature! smile & the wear is even across the treads so no misalignment anywhere is indicated.

Holy smoly! I haven't loaned my car out to Mr. L.Hamilton although it does grip well in the twisties.

Car currently on Conti SportContact 5 XL which have been decent but no way will I replace like for like if 12k miles is all they can do.

So has anyone got any recommendations for replacements.
Continentals are looking about £180+ a corner. Some change from that would be nice but Ying Yang Ditchfinders are not an option

I have a 1.5DCi Tekna and I'm near the wet wear bars at 7k. Not doing too bad seeming I drive the MK roundabouts everyday.

I have sport contact 5's and at 10k miles I am thinking they might last the lease duration of 20k, will probably make sure they do the scheduled rotation at it's service though. Last vehicles I had with tyres that wore this quick were a classic mini and a motorbike! The majority of it's miles have been the m6/m1 and the autoroute to the south of france which must have helped me not use them up as quick as others..

Ok on doing a bit of t'internet research, it would appear that getting 12k miles out of the Conti sports, I'm doing quite well...

So will try something different instead - top choices as I type are either Dunlops or Falkens.

Picked up my ink blue 1.6 petrol Qashqai last week smile as I was collecting it I was told it possibly had a problem with the radio and a call to service to get it checked over was needed. Have to admit that I'm now disppointed with Nissan as I've tried ringing a couple of times to be told someone from service would ring me back to book it in but for some reason they haven't yet! Even spoke to the service manager twice, once yesterday and once today and he didn't remember talking to me yesterday! I'm sure I'll get it booked in at some point but it's a bit of a let down.

Anyway, apart from all that, I'm more than happy with the car biggrin

Hi everyone,

Our main car is a 2011 Quashqai with the mighty 1.5 DCI diesel engine.

We're covering about 25k miles a year at the moment - The Nissan warranty covers the car up to 75k miles (which is fast approaching). What are these cars like outside of warranty? I'm undecided whether to keep it going for another few years or just replace it with something else (probably a Skoda Superb Estate).

Their seems to be very little prob's with them at the moment as far as I am aware(I am in Australia)The dealers here are not seeing any thing worth worrying about..Cheerssmilesmile
