Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum but have read PH for some time now and obviously like Chris Harris' work! smile
I'm currently sat on a WRX STi 09 plate Hatchback. I'm looking to sell this and move to something a bit more track focused that won't depreciate like a stone covered in cat pee.
I have about 12k to spend. I have owned lots of interesting cars over the years including an R35 GT-R. But what i really want now is a fast road car that i can track 4 or 5 times a year and not have to worry about it. I know a track day is going to mean extra wear on breaks and clutch but i'm ok with that.
I have tracked a few times in my Impreza at castle combe and that was great but I want something a little lighter and a bit safer i guess?

I was looking at Impreza spec c's or Tom Makinen Edition (TME) Evo's or maybe even an r32 GT-R?
What do you guys think? Do you have any thoughts on the above or would you recommend something totally different, like i said i don't really wanna spend more than 12k at the outset.

Thanks Guys

Hi Jio,
Im a new boy to the forums also but let me give you my thoughts..
First off my vote goes to the EVO without a doubt one of the best drives ive had round track..
Admittedly i have only ever driven one on the same day i drove the focus ST along with the impreza so not much experience to go on..
BY FAR the most fun was the EVO IV smile
Anyway, im not sure how easy it would be to get your hands on spares for those so i would look to be getting a second car for track just incase wink
Also give a thought to something RWD??

May be way off but you have asked for a more track focused car that will hold it's value but I cannot see if their is hour only or daily drive.

The reason for this is if it was your toy I would look at a Kit car. I have a 7 rep and in 10 years it's still has the same agreed value now as it did 10 years ago. So really holds it value.
And I have done plenty of trackdays and only the expensive stuff that used to get past me due to the light weight and ample power.
So if you are not looking for something that you will use daily and don't need to put the kids in the back they why not something like a Wetsfield/ caterham or Something similar with a roof?

Just a idea if it's not your only car
