I can assure you, the tax disc that is (still!) in my car definitely says £500 yikes

It went up again as of the 1st April this year.
I stand corrected thought it was the same as the 370 which is band L

Unfortunately no.Am now considering selling the 350 and moving onto the 370-seems a logical thing to do really.

Suppose it is really, but the slightly bigger boot, little more power and of course the looks-we'll have to wait and see.

Just trying to understand what has been written above, do the Hr engined cars have a weaker gearbox than the earlier cars? Evo's review of the Hr engined car is glowing, they love how it rev's to the redline better than the ealier cars with no power flat spots?

No the HR gearboxes are the best ones but dont fit the earlier cars without work so I understand it , also there is less of the vibration and roughness with the HR that Nissan "put There for character" , even so the DMF rattles and the gearbox isnt the sweetest to shift

The HR engine is also the sweetest revving with improved valve gear to reduce the noise at higher rpm

Opitcal illusion then? New car I looked at last year certainly appear ed to have a deeper boot with the brace moved forward.

Perhaps, the 370z boot is not as deep nor as large as the 350 , the 370z has a shorter wheel base than the 350 and is shorter overall although it does have a small amount of storage behind the rear seats that the 350 lacks

I'm on my second 350z - I had a '04 and now have a '05. Really enjoying it. Great advice on this thread. My observations:

3 different models - VQ35DE (276bhp), VQ35DE Rev-up 2006 (296bph) and VQ35HR 2007+ (313bhp). From reading online, the 296 rev-up can suffer pretty bad oil consumption.

Clutch - not uncommon to replace before the 60k miles mark. Budget £900-£1200 to replace including labour (and including DMF) Also to note, on the HR model, the clutch slave cylinder is inside the transmission casing therefore it's an expensive job if it goes. The slave sits outside on the DE models.

Suspension - as mentioned banana arms bushes usually go. The bushing can be replaced cheaply but if the ball joint is worn the whole arm needs to be replaced. £200-£250 for the oem part.

Exhaust - sounds wonderful. Keep an eye on the where the midpipe joins the backbox, this has a tendancy to corrode.

Gearbox- pretty solid. Vibrating gearstick is normal smile

Bose stereo - loose connection in the back of the CD player can cause the passenger speaker to become intermittent. Common issue.

Driveshaft - can suffer from clicking noise. Needs some re-greasing. Not an uncommon issue.

Great car for the money..

Mine's black and with 19" forged Nismo LMGT4s on it, looks the tits too. It suffered the corroded exhaust a long time ago, but was welded and now looks like it could last forever. I sometimes think of changing the pipes, but with just a JWT Popcharger, it sounds wonderful without offending anybody.
I want your wheels! Although not sure they would look as good on my yellow one. My car had the corroded exhaust too but the previous owner replaced it with a Scorpion system. Sounds great, not too loud but not a fan of the big slash cut tips.
Out of interest what number is yours? Mine is 139

Mine's #162. I post as 'Streetwise Hercules' on the 350Z forum.

LMGT4s would look great on your car too.

Ah cool. I find it a bit weird how the numbers don't correspond to the colour. I would have thought Nissan would do all of one colour first and then the other.

I would love a set of LMGT4's but they don't come up very often and when they do they fetch good money

I've had my '07 HR since March and have averaged 27mpg since then, although I do a lot of A road driving. None if the issues mentioned have sprung up yet. I agree with gear box - very clunky when cold but otherwise fine. One other thing to look out for is the very irritating paint they use on the door grab handles and other areas of the trim. It falls off if you so much look at it. Can be repainted if you pull the trim off but it's a crap effort from Nissan.
