Importing Toyota Hi Ace from Japan or South Africa?

Hi,

Really like the look of the Hi Ace that is distributed in SA / Japan and Aus. Thinking of trying to import one here into the UK. Was just wondering whether anyone can summarise what costs I can expect to incur, and what changes I will need to have done to the vehicle so as to be able to get it registered here in the UK.

I think japan-partner.com have a breakdown of costs to ship on their site. You'll have to pat VAT as they're outside the EU, and Custom & Excise might want a few bob too.
