Celica 190 gearchange very heavy at high revs

Recently I've noticed a slightly odd occurrence developing. At lower rpm the gearchange is light and smooth, but has become heavy and fairly clunky once the cam lift has engaged past 6,000rpm.
Any other owners noticed this happening?

Do you mean it feels like your hitting a notch when you change up?
I have just fitted some brass gear linkage bushes today from the standard rubber ones and the difference is night and day.
Its a cheap mod , fairly simple to do but can be quite fiddly and hard getting the old bushes out.
Feels like "bolt action" changing gear with the brass installed.

It doesn't mention in the guide, but taking out your airbox makes it a lot easier to access the bush underneath the throttle body.
