Mazda6 Service history

Am I right in thinking that the service history for Mazda6's (and other cars?) is only available electronically?

If so, how does one obtain / view this?

Mazda should be able to provide a print out, I recently had a new battery fitted under warranty , when I gave the Reg number, the service guy pulled up the vehicle details on the screen which also had all the service history etc. I'd have thought they could print this off for you, as after each service we've always been given a sheet of paper giving the details of all the previous services / work and the next due date.

Nice one, I'll have to contact them if I buy the car to get all the details.
