Sooooo,

I bought a 2011 Audi S3 as I stated and after circa 3months I have to say it great at everything, but Amazing at nothing!!!!

I am already in talks to sell it.

Its just to heavy, lovely at crusing on the motorway but when giving it the beans on the windy stuff it just cannot handle it.

Drove a Megan RS and I think that may be the one to go for.

I would love an Evo, but now a Evo X unless it's a manual

rsv gone!

The SST box is awesome, flick the car into SPORT and she comes alive, if your brave give a go in SUPERSPORT!
It has been tuned nearly touching 400BHP by TRL Developments so the SST is tuneable.
I thought the SST box was too weak for such torque/bhp?

Can any X owners do me a favour and measure both the length and width of the boot and the diameter and depth of the spare wheel well?

Any X SST owners on here? Would like to replace my Galant VR4 with one in a year or so. Just wondering how reliable the boxes are and how they cope with extra boost.
I had an X FQ330 SST. Very glad to be shot of it. That gearbox is a liability. First box was replaced under warranty at 20,000 miles and a warranty claim of £9k. By the time it was sold, it felt like more trouble was on the way. I had mine from 9 months old to 4 years old and I had so many issues with AYC, gearbox, front struts, wheel corrosion and brakes. The underside corrosion, at 30,000 miles and 4 years old, was simply shocking. I wouldn't touch another with a very long barge pole.

It seems rude not to reply, but at the moment my X and I are in different countries!
Come in folks. Your retractable tape measure can't be far away!

Every car with thread on PH has 'known' issues.
We seldom get hard facts though. Hence we suffer from confirmation bias. In that consumers are shown to be 8 times more likely to complain about poor service and products. The nays have it.

Gearbox has mixed reviews but I guess it also depends on how the car is treated and how often the gearbox fluid is changed etc. There are upgraded clutch packs and other parts now available for the SST box. As for corrosion, I'm suffering from rust issues on my 2000 Galant VR4 at the moment. If I do end up in an X it will be cleaned and undersealed by a pro!

No worries. I started a thread over on the MLR forum and it looks like the boot might be too small for my old mans wheelchair and a lpg tank. I'll try to view a local X at some point to confirm this though.

Does anyone know if 17" wheels fit over the stock brakes on the X?

I believe the discs are 350mm on the front and 320mm on the rear.

Had these wheels sat in storage for a while -

I think they are from the JDM VIII or IX MR? Would be handy if they do fit.

Met up with a top chap from the MLR forum today.

Sadly the boot is too small

He kindly removed the rear plastic trim that covers the battery and washer bottle which allowed for a bit more but not quite enough.

A smaller battery might solve the issue, or maybe relocating it to the right hand side of the boot.

Either way it's not a straightforward job. Had a quick look and I don't think that there a decent enough wheelchair with smaller dimensions out there.
