Insurers dont care too much about mods on Skylines , the worry about the power , and even then they dont care too much

99% of skylines have aftermarket exhausts , you cant buy the stock ones Nissan deleted large parts of their catalogue and they stopped making the 33 20 years ago

I already have a price on the car from AdrianFlux. Its this damn exhaust that's bugging me.

I have asked a couple of mechanics, and they said it may be better to get a silencer manufactured for the mid pipe, but they wont try it themselves. They keep telling me to go to this guy near me that works especially on drift cars, and charges the world.

I mean seriously, I dont want to race, drag, or drift. I just want to drive the damn thing and not go deaf/get headaches while I'm doing so. So a bung is a bad idea, that valve is just a more advanced version of the same thing, and cat back exhausts only seem to come for racing. I'm really getting a bit stuck for options :/

just get a stock exhaust, easy!

post that on the skyline forums and you will find someone quickly, many people keep their stock one in the garage so they can get through the MOT, so will have them lying around.

I'll try it. I have someone on a different forum that has a 3" for sale for £135 as well, with 2 silencers. I'll see what comes up smile

Any stock exhaust will be 20 years old ! You can buy a silenced decat (see below) , quieter 3" exhaust , or have your current exhaust modified by a specialist who can add another silencer

People do not keep stock exhaust for the mot , they bin them , I've never heard of anyone changing a whole exhaust for the mot, a decat for a cat yes .
