'96 Mitsubishi Mirage Asti ZR

Bit of a long shot, as these are rare as hell...but any current or previous owners on here?

The mirage is basically a 2 door coupe variant of the Colt, and the asti ZR has a 170bhp DOHC 1.6.

They're rare as hell, and a friend is selling his, I am going over to talk to him on the weekend and view the car...just wondering if anyone on here has owned or driven one?

Should be quite a hoot, only weighs 1080kg or so.

I've got a real thing for rare and unusual jap cars, so dead keen on this.

I had a previous Gen Colt GTI 1.8 16v 140bhp (CA5A), the Asti is based on the CJ Colt.

I converted mine to track spec and it was a real hoot.

CJ shares quite a few suspension parts with the Evo 4/5/6 iirc so a lot of components can be cross fitted.

Went to view a Mirage cyborg R about 15 years ago which iirc was a 1.6 dohc mivec engine putting out a similar power. It was a lovely sounding engine but i ended up going for a 1.6 VT civic instead as back then both were pretty rare but the civic was cheaper to insure.
