After a recent service, I was quoted an astronomical figure for a clutch kit through Nissan, so have taken to the interwebs to find a replacement to have fitted at a specialist. However, I'm struggling to find many options to buy in the UK and even then, don't know what kit to go for.

I've never been a fan of the clutch in the 370 and what I don't want to end up with is a more aggressive clutch set up, given this is my main gripe with the car. Has anyone here had a clutch replacement and if so, could you give me a bit of insight as to where best to buy etc.

Cheers.

just out of interest how many miles have you done and how has it failed?
Is it just a noisy thrust bearing? mines a bit noisy at 32000 miles.
Sorry can't help on where to get clutch.
Have you tried the nissansportz website?

Sorry, to clarify, it hasn't actually failed. I'm at 44,000 and still has life in it. The service pulled it as an advisory and it has started to slip a bit when taking off from standstill over 1,500 revs.

Driving the way I do, it'll likely last another 10k miles, but the general rough feel and bite are starting to grate on me.

Its good practice to replace the flywheel as well which doesnt help with the cost, but for me it would have to be stock

If you're not on the 350Z UK forum (contrary to the name they also have a number of 370 owners tongue out), head over there and have a look at the traders' section. The biggest parts supplier seems to be TORQEN, and he can get you anything from OEM to aftermarket.

I had a quote from him for a clutch and solid flywheel on a 350Z with the HR engine (so the engine is very similar to the VQ37HR in yours) and it came in about £1200. This included the clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder, master cylinder and a braided clutch line. If you're going for an OEM dual mass flywheel expect to pay a bit more.

Obviously add on labour and you're looking about the £1500 mark all together. If you really want an acurate quote, though you'll be better giving him a shout directly.

Thanks for this SnailTrail. I'll go and take a look and get in touch. Dual Mass Flywheel through Nissan is £1,250 on its own, so any saving through him would be welcome!

Cheers

Horsham developments do one a little cheaper but its worth a call for a full replacement price , you might be pleasantly surprised , I'd think hard about going for a solid flywheel though

The 350z HR DMF is quite a bit cheaper than the 370zfrown

Yes I've been reading about the solid flywheel and people's experience and I think it'd be a recipe for disaster with the kind of use the car has.

Thanks for the link. I managed to find Horsham and will give them a shout for a quote.
