Hi

I'm seriously thinking about getting an R34 GTT. Budget up to 15K.

The question is who can I trust? A lot of these garages / importers seem to have a bad rep.

So instead of naming and shaming can anyone name and praise garages they have dealt with and have had a positive experience? I'm based in Sussex so something relatively local would be helpful (but I am in Devon quite often) as would hearing from anyone who runs or has run this car

Thanks in advance

100000% Torque GT, they were amazing for my R33 GTST and have a solid rep.

If you don't want to go to Devon I've only ever heard good things about JM-Imports in Newcastle, I've only had one brief conversation with them but they were friendly and helpful.

Thanks for that. Was the car you purchased one they had in stock or did they purchase it to order? How have you found the running costs and maintenance? (ignoring fuel consumption!)

It was using their personal import service so a "fresh" one from Japan. Grade 4, 49k Miles, totally stock redface , black. I think I paid about £280 more than the cost of a fully sorted standard one over here. The only one that came up matching that spec over here had a GTR spoiler and red calipers and was £6k!

If you take into account the modded ones then it was a UK one plus about £1k which for the amount of work they do is not very much money!

Running costs are fine, vastly cheaper than the Jaguar S-Type I had before. Service was around £220, 4x Hancook tyres £240.

Got my cambelt this year so that's going to be about £450 frown but to be fair that's around the same price as MG ZT was and that belt is a faff!

Fuel is actually the most surprising, I'm doing about 10k/year and it's averaging about 23.7mpg!!! I definitely don't hang around lol.

I've used Torque GT and JM Imports, and would recommend either smile

If you have a budget of £15k and want a Skyline, buy an R32 GTR. If you want something simpler / cheaper to maintain, an S15 Silvia. smile
