How fast is the Mazda RX-8, 231...? Performance figures seem to vary, from o-100 in the mid 16s, to high 18s.....

Just wondered how owners found their cars? Civic Type r quick, 330i quick or less?

There's loads of great things about this car but straight line speed is not one of them unfortunately. I can't give you figures because i never tried, but i've been passenger in a 330i and it's pretty far off that. I struggled to outrun a 2.0 Golf GT.

It is Type R quick. However the torque curve is very flat and so you don't have sudden sense of urgency that you get with a turbo.

I'd go with that from experience.

0-60 in around 6.5s so not ultra rapid. Where this car makes up is the twistys.

I have a PZ model and was basically pushing an E46 M3, Im not saying i could of passed him but he couldn't shake me. As soon as the straights came he moved away but i caught him again at the bends.

50/50 weight distribution and excellent handling make this car a lot faster than it actually is.

PZ is certainly one of the best for handling from the RX8 range. R3 would be the other one that also has great suspension upgrades.
