OK guys. Just bought a really sweet RX7 first gen 1983...so straight I'm tempted to leave standard but those 13 inch rims look lost.
Having seen a wide arch car I'm tempted to go the full hog, any ideas on where I can source ?

Plenty of those rivet-on JDM y0 style arches on Ebay. Fibreglass is easier to get a nice finish on, but harder to bend to shape, and heavier than the ABS plastic sort. Wheels maketh the car; if you're going to put wide arches over a set of shadowchrome Lensos with zero dish and +40 offset then arguably it might look a bit silly. Put them over some -15 SSR splitties and win at everything.

If you haven't already, try http://www.rx7fb.com/index.php for the most exhaustive source on looking after the sometimes delicate FB RX-7.

And we demand pics wink

I used to run FB's back in the late 80's when I worked for Mazda UK. As I recall, Tonbridge Wells Mazda were building a big arch car for themselves, which had some pretty big split rims fitted. It was a pretty extensive kit with new front wings and rear quarters, as opposed to those bolt on arch jobs. I'll see if I can find out any info.

Any pics of your FB? I'm just trying to do a deal on one myself, with a view to eventually hill climbing one.

I would love an FB as a project...if I could convince the wife.

Sadly space is a little short frown

It'd be fine. They don't take up any more room than any other kind of car wink

By strange coincidence, I happen to have one, for which I've just bought some eBaytastic wheel arch flares. If it goes well I'll report back. If it doesn't I'll just change my username and you'll never hear from me again hehe

Its a shame Rocket Bunney/Greddy don't make a wide arch kit for the gen 1
