I know it's not the ideal family solution but has anyone successfully ran one with two kids? How did you find getting them in and out, how was the boot space and comfort of a full car in general?

I've got a 4 year old and a new born and now is possibly the only chance for a good while of owning a car I've wanted to for so long.

Can't see them being any worse than running a 3 door hatchback or even a 5 door hatch if it is Corsa or Fiesta sized. And plenty of people manage with those.

The RX8 fits adults in the back easily and The boot is a reasonable size. The only issue with the boot is the small opening.

I've got one which two kids (10 and 11) are happy in the back of. Hatchback size boot is practical and if the kids aren't there a lot of easily accessible space in the back seats. We also have a Megane if we need a bit more space (and to use far less fuel) and a noisy roof box for more space still and a VW camper for lots more space and about the same petrol. Only two seats in the back means the dog has to sit on one of the kids laps, but we'd usually take the Megane in that case.

Fitting a big buggy in the boot opening might be a bit of a pain though - but no worse than a fiesta or such.

I think the RX8 is great and pretty untouchable fun-wise for the money if you need 4 seats - even if it does require a bit/lot of work now and then. I'd struggle to think what else to get for the money if it got wrote off - probably another RX8.

Only thing I'd add would be to watch out for back doors being shut onto the fronts, and if you have a steep driveway, juggling the front and rear doors can be a pain
