Hi all,

This is my first post on PH but have used PH for a source of valuable information over the years! Apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I recently became a proud owner of a Mazda 3 Sport. It is the first model to have the i-Stop technology & I believe the only one in the 2009 - 2013 range to have it as the 2.0 petrol Sport was the Guinea Pig! Generally I am happy about it (though do keep seeing worrying things about how temperamental the i-Stop can actually be) but one thing I find odd is the 0 - 60 book time seems to be 10.4 seconds, which seems fairly slow. I used to own a 6n2 Polo GTi & a Mondeo ST TDCi both with a book 0 - 60 of between 8.4 & 8.7 seconds. The Mazda 3 2.0 Sport definitely feels quicker, though I haven't actually timed it. I know that some cars are dulled down, e.g. the Corolla T-Sport had a book 0 - 60 time of over 8 seconds but in reality many say it was more like just over 6 & up there with the Civic Type-R, but Toyota did this as they were sad to show their flagship Celica wasn't much quicker than the Corolla!

Are their any other owners across this board? I find it is a fairly rare car. The 1.6 Sport, 2.0 Automatic Sport & the diesel variants all seem to be in abundance!
