DPF flashing Mazda CX-7

Hi there
I have a much loved Mazda CX-7 and today the DPF light starting flashing. The car is on 58k mileage and admittedly I only do short about town runs in the car. It was taken out for a good 'thrashing' today and this hasn't resolved the issue. I inherited the car and I don't believe it's been serviced since Feb 15 but has only done max 8k miles in that time. I haven't got money to throw at this so I'd be very grateful if any of you have any solutions/ experience/ suggestions. Thank you in advance for your help

DPF flashing is also timing chain stretch warning light,So id get it checked at a Mazda Dealer..

Flashing DPF can also mean that a service is due - at least on Mazda 6 that's the case. Why on earth they use the DPF lamp to signify that I have no clue.
