Using as a daily, 10k miles a year. One or two driving holidays a year (Scottish road trip etc)

Car shows and commuting.

Blobeye WRX - modified to 350BHP, rebuilt with STI block, vf34, mapped and checked over by Bob Rawle.

Terzo - rebuilt engine, otherwise standard.

Both owned by proper enthusiasts. I've had a Blobeye before along with a BRZ.. preferred the BRZ. Using equity in my current car to free up some money and buy an Impreza before moving out.

I like lightweight. I like good handling. But I do like Blobeyes.

Insurance on the Terzo is £600, Blob is £1000. Cost to change, Blob is £1500 more to buy and insure. I know it's down to personal preferences, but I've never had a classic. Do they hold up? Which is the better buy.. kept for 2 years with hopefully no major major issues and normal maintenance..

Thoughts? smile is the Terzo actually a fun car to drive or underpowered?

Try and drive both back to back. Then buy what you like.

I like the classics at the moment. Not sure if i'd want to run one as a daily though. But having said that, there's been a lovely 555 wagon that Newera had in recently that caught my eye smile

I had a Terzo PPP for over 10 years. It was a great car. It was also the most reliable car I've ever had. Fairly quick to 60 and about 14 seconds to a tonne. So no slouch.

I sold it about 6 years back, and it was starting to feel a little tired although the engine pulled as strongly as ever. The rear arches were starting to go, and the suspension could have done with a refresh.

They are old cars now, so will need a bit of tlc.

The Terzo is a very rare car and more of an event. The blob would be better as a daily.

The Terzo has a few styling bits, but otherwise is a turbo 2000 performance wise, as a limited edition it may hold value better though.

I really enjoyed my classic, it was so adjustable up to and past the normal limits of grip. The blobeye you are looking at will be faster and more planted than a Herzog. It depends what floats your boat.

Well guys, I decided to go for the Terzo. I pick it up this afternoon! Having already had a Blob, I decided to try something different. The guy took me out in it and it felt so raw and in touch with the road, something the blobeye never did and something I enjoy about my girlfriends MX5. We shall see if it ends up being the right choice! smile.

Good man! I kept meaning to reply but never got the chance, I bought my Terzo 4 years ago as a 44K mile unmodified car bar the stainless exhaust - the original did come with it though - it's just about to roll over 110k. How has it been ........ not a problem, it's had oil, filters, brakes, tyres and 2 cambelts (one at purchase and again at 100k) and only now is it showing signs of any age related wear with a recent rad and top/bottom hose change. Like any Classic it's rear arches are just starting to bubble (despite me waxoyling them just after I bought it) but it's not going anywhere so I'll get them sorted and press on til 200k! I still look back as I leave it whether dirty or clean - I just love it!
