hi was just wondering if anyone has a cure for an over revving skyline, on start up it over revs at around 1500rpm, and when warm revs to 1200rpm, any idea how to turn it down, and also seems to lag in second and third gear on boost,
I've only just bought the car so very new to the skyline scene, my previous car was impreza and these were easy to work on compared to this skyline.
its a gts turbo 2.5
any help would be great
cheers

Assuming it's all standard the rb25det runs a two stage boost, this may give the impression of mild lag, easy enough to disable or just get an electronic boost controller. Coilpacks are another common fault and can cause hesitation/misfire, fitted a set of splitfires to my skyline. Also make sure your putting in shell v power or similar, unless it's mapped for 95 ton.

First priority is to get it properly serviced too, fluids, filters, belts etc.

Lots of help and advice on skyline owners forum or gtr forum.

thanks for the reply. the hesitation has now stopped in 2nd and 3rd and running a lot better, however I'm still having trouble with idle going up and down . I have replaced the gasket on the idle valve controller and cleaned it all with carb cleaner but as soon as I turn the ac on or off the revs start going up and down again. ive been told it could be a air leak form somewhere but ive checked all hoses pipes ect, so still a little bit baffled
I will take a look on the other forums and many thanks for advice
cheers

I know this is a little old but have you still got this issue? Has your car been remapped? It could be a mapping issue.
