Ah, so that's what it does! I noticed the wire thing but didn't know what it was for. I'm guessing that's to increase back pressure at low revs? I've no idea if it actually works though!

Wedgie do you have one of the JPNZ R33 workshop manuals?(covers RB 20,25,26-SR,DE,DET,DETT engines) There's a good exploded diag of the system.

If you want one(or anyone else here) I can upload a copy(Adobe pdf),over 100mb tho.

I downloaded a copy just the other day from someone on the Skylines Down Under forum, cheers for the offer though. A bit of light bedtime reading

I had a look yesterday, and there's a little butterfly throttle in one pipe, closed at idle. I just hope it opens up at some point! The back box looks fairly new, so hopefully it works ok.

I had a closer look at the bonnet lip too, and it looks standard - I guess Nissan changed it for the facelift.
