Thinking of buying a Subaru Legacy as a bit of an all rounder to replace a 993 C2S while I look for a 355 (need to save a bit of money and the 993 ain't cheap to run!) Anyone got any tips? Don't really want to spend more than 10-12k. What can I expect on mpg? Will it keep me mildly amused as a daily drive given what I'm used to? Any help much appreciated

Haven't a clue. Probably 2.5 litre but I',m not sure that won't be a bit thirsty

TBH some flavour of UK scooby wagon is in the top 3 of my list for when the '33 goes, prob at the end of the summer.Trouble is there are too many variants for old dim-wits like myself to keep up with Anyone know of a web-page addy where I can compare model/variants/specs etc against each other on the same page!.
Thanks.

www.english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/ is good for comparing different models of cars, not sure how up to date it is though.

my 1990 Legacy VZ (2.0 4cam 4wd) wagon gets 29-30mpg open road, probably more like 26-28 round town. I do have a very heavy foot though. From what I've heard the 2.5 gets only very slightly worse mileage than the 2.0 because it doesnt need to be worked as hard (a lot more torque)

On the site mentioned above, if you open a model year list each variant has an link on the right which says "add" , clicking this will add that variant to a spec/details comparison page. You can compare 10 cars at a time I think of any model year / car type you choose.

Hope this helps,
Ben
