does anyone happen to know or know where to find the maximum speed of a 350z in each gear?

I seem to remember they were in the technical specs at the back of the brochure I had (which has since been recycled).

Might be available in a downloaded brochure...

according to the bumph I have at work (a mate is thinking of one so I bought it all in yesterday, I don't normally carry this stuff around - honest guv!)...
[all @6,500rpm (start of red-line on dash)]
1st ~47kmh
2nd ~82kmh
3rd ~125kmh
4th ~160kmh
5th ~180kmh
6th goes off the graph, but is 250kmh @ 5,500rpm

in old money, that's about:
1st ~35mph
2nd ~51mph
3rd ~78mph
4th ~100mph
5th ~112mph
6th ~156mph

I think they are electronically limited to 155mph on the EU models.
If you had that turned off (by providing you FIA approved race license, etc) it looks like it would achieve about 305kmh, or 190mph.

I will try to get it scanned and hosted for you if you want?

I'm pretty sure those can't be right - I have it on good authority that 5th gear is good for over 140. Are you sure that the speeds you have in km/h aren't actually mph?

The figures don't look quite right. I'd expect the Z to be able to crack 60mile/h in second, and a top speed of ~190mile/h seems a tad optimistic with 'only' ~280bhp unless it really is very slippery.

It's probably geared for 190mph, but it would never do it. Barely any road cars will reach maximum revs in top. IIRC, MR2 Turbos are geared for well over 170mph. You just need the power to pull it

Brochure is part number 99999-53698 - 05/2004 (printed on cholrinefree paper )

I'm sure you can take the car over red-line.

The graph goes to 8,000rpm, and shows kmh at the bottom.

@8,00rpm (read down by eye):
1st ~55kmh
2nd ~102kmh
3rd ~152kmh
4th ~197kmh
5th ~240kmh
6th still stops at 250kmh(edge of graph) @ 5,500rpm. Again I can hold a few rulers next to the lines and guess what it would be at 8,000 rpm if you want, but as has been said it will probably never get there with the drag.

Converting these to mph (5/8th and just whole number part):
1st ~34mph
2nd ~63mph
3rd ~95mph
4th ~123mph
5th ~150mph

Though I would suggest the engine would last a very short amount of time doing those speeds in those gears - if it's possible.

From the power and torque graph:
The torque peak is at 4,800 rpm, after which it takes quite a dive. The power is still rising, but only just at 6,400rpm, I would guess it only goes down afterwards, so keeping it in gear and going for more revs would result in going faster, but getting there slower than changing gear. Also, the torque may drop so much that the car couldn't physically reach 8,000rpm.

I will get the two graphs scanned and hosts when my PA gets in later.

EDIT -

BUM! I have the scan, but due to my crappy machine, I can't upload to my FTP site to host it.

I can email it to anybody that wants it though - the email is about 800Kb.
