That's the sort of time a sports bike posts, smells like bull to me.

Either that, or he removed the seats, bonnet, doors, roof, boot, all wheel arches, all glass, etc, first!

our car is a 680 kg dragster with a 6.7ltr V8, large slicks and a variety of other drag racing bits and bobs...

at the pod, we run 11.0's ...

I'm afraid he's talking crap!

Looking at the latest issue of J-Tuner he'd have lost a lot more through the transmission than that..

276 at the wheels would make more than 307 at the flywheel...

And with those couple of mods, I would find it hard to believe he is north of 300bhp...

and even if he was - i've seen 500Bhp supras just crack into 12 second quarters...

Gaz - organise a day out for the office... have a whip round, get some cash together... trot over to Surrey RR and enjoy as Charlie hands you a nice colour graph to put on the office wall.

to give you some sort of similar car - Escort Cosworths with dyno proven 330bhp conversions would do 13second 1/4s. That was fairly good, with a good launch. some got into the 12's.

11...urmmm, no.

275bhp at the wheels is more like 355bhp - 360bhp at the fly, and you would need bigger turbo to achieve that.

if he got the timing slip at an event last year or the year before, I understand they had the first timing point about 10m up the strip. people were getting very good, ignorable times.

and yes you'd need over 600bhp to get under 12s. (once i work out how to do good launches consistently, I'll show you )

lol my mate had a 1993 wrx @ 270bhp and i think he ran a 14 odd seconds quarter mile with a damaged piston (didnt know it at the time)and i think he was running 17 psi (dont take my word on that tho.)

surely the fact that, by those figures, he's only losing 30bhp in a 4wd drivetrain says it all....

I thought something lke 70bhp was more on the mark for transmission losses....

last time i was on the rollers i lost 17% through the transmission but that was on a hot day (25c) the time before; on a cold day it lost 28% (16c). it slso depends on the viscosity of the transmission oil and the tyre pressures.

as for qtr mile times with 300bhp in the R i hit 13.07 sec, i know people with no sympathy and a better clutch do 12.5's. it may be a contentious point but to me scoobys never seem to launch very well and theyve always been disappointing at the pod.

to hit low 11's on a unstripped car he'd have to be pushing the high side of 450-500bhp.

edited to say the 17% loss = 57bhp and the 28% loss = 82%

Still not brought the slip in to show. Reckons he slaughtered a 380bhp RX7tt along a dual carriageway, and that he'd kick my arse to 150mph.... I'm getting scared... Had a quick squiz 'round it this morning, nothing visible (big brakes, ebc, fmic etc) to show that sort of power- still had the standard exhaust with a dodgy tailpipe extention.

Gaz, just do the man thing, slip the big silver bullet into 'D' and whoop his ass.
Its like saying my FTO could whoop the Big Bad Black Supe.
its just plain B0lloc&s

It's a shame you're not too close to Shakey or the Pod, it'd be interesting to see him put his tyres on the line, as it where...

If he's running 11's it should be a close race with our dragster... he's more than welcome to try

I'd reckon that 95% of people with half quick modified cars think they havd 10-20% more BHP than they actually do, and the car is a second faster over 1/4 than it actually is.

I catch myself doing it sometimes.
