Don't bother with the PPP. You can do better from getting a Tek 3 remap someone like Bob Rawle. It made loads of difference to my STi 5...

What do you mean by better? More power, or cheaper? Or something else?

What I like about PPP is this:

1. Just enough power without ruining the reliability
2. A well known brand that will hold it's value better than others

Just spoke to my insurers liverpool victoria. They won't cover me with a PPP conversion, even though it is a factory option fitted at a subaru main dealer. However they will cover a new car fitted with the exact same option! Bloody tts.

My Scoob is running about 330bhp now, and I have no problem insuring. I am with Admeral they gave the best price by far including the mods.

For Scoob insurance, try A Plan, they're superb.

I've booked my STI in for the Prodrive Performance Pack next week. Should be nippy enough.

First impressions of PPP on my sti are...

1. Much smoother power delivery. Feels more linear throughout, less lumpy.

2. Power extends all the way up to 7000, rather than dying at after the old midrange boost at 5000

3. Possibly the same or less low down torque but much more mid to high output. Maybe the new smoother linearity that makes this feel different.

4. Lovely low down exhaust rumble, but not too intusive.

5. Overall I'd say worth it for the smoothness of delivery as much as anything. Definately a better car.
