Child seats in 2+2s

Morning all.
Anyone had any experience of trying to fit a child seat in the back of a 2+2? My little girl is nearly 9mths old so we're looking at upgrading her current seat. Problem is, room in the back of my 300ZX is tight. I also will probably need to replace the rear lap belts with 3-pointers (it's an import).
Anyone else had these fun and games?
Currently Twin Turbo Jnr is only accustomed to travelling in our Alfa 156 Sportwagen, but it's about time she experienced a real car ;)
