For the record:

The new Type 25bow
415bhp @ 6,500rpm (400bhp from 5,800rpm - 7,000rpm)
570Nm / 420lbft @ 3,800rpm (300lbft from 3,000rpm)
8,000rpm Redline
304bhp/toneek
0 - 60mph in 3.7seceek
0 - 100mph in 8.7seceek
157mph limited top speed (175mph gearing, taller gearing also under review)

£39,995 OTR

No comparison in speed or handling in ANY condition. Wet / Dry, straights / corners, whatever situation the Type 25 would murder the 350.

Peter
P.S. The 350 is still a nice car just not quite in ths same league!

It's always nice to see a few die-hard Scoobyists about, where by no other car even comes close

I don't know how much it is but for around £40K you could get the mental and throughly sorted Litchfield Type 25 Impreza. An absolute bargain for what is, in terms of it's performance, a supercar. The Evo feature a couple of months ago had me frothing at the mouth.

Problem with the Impreza is style (lack of). And its adoption by the chav community.
And I like Imprezas for the record, (having owned 2 including a JDM STi) but the image is just too bad now.

Fair enough, you've had two but to not buy a car cos you feel it has a bad image is a bit feeble. The type 25 is a serious car for serious driving. End of. In black it would look less conspicuous too.

I quite like the 350z but I still think the Boxter and the Cayman are in a different league.

I don't think the chav image is anywhere near as bad as people think and that's pretty outdated thinking too. Most chavs that drive Imprezas are driving much older ones that you can pick up for next to nothing from 1994/95/96, and they are very cheap. Most of the newer impreza's you see nowadays are driven by people in their mid 30's +, and are respectable working people at that. I've seen quite a few women driving them too. The Type25 will chew up a PPP, WR1, P1, and even a Mitsi FQ400 etc... and it's serviced every 10,000 miles, amazing!!

It's totally in a different league of it's own and there are many exotic Supercar drivers that will be seriously embarrased by this car at the lights, and for the money..WOW!! The Type 25 isn't about looks although i think it's pretty stealthy, and sinister looking in black with the carbon fibre wing not the tea tray, and as for fun i can't imagine anything more fun than hurtling along country lanes at insane speeds feeling serious amounts of G (about 1.5G i think), thats fun!!

Nah, they'll just pootle off in their Porsche / Ferrari / Lambo back to their huge, big ass house and screw their fit trophy wives.

Sorry, I do have to laugh when I see people come out with things like the above, it's usually chav boy racers harping on about 2.0l turbo'd corsas and novas and how they'll eat supercars but totally missing the point that, at the end of the day, it's still just a plain old car to Joe Public and most people will be interested in the supercar.

I didn't think i was being like a chav in saying what i said. I've lost count now of how many supercar drivers i have seen ripping away from the lights in their Lambo's, Ferrari's, Nobles etc..., racing little boys in their souped up corsa's & Nova's some of which are pretty quick but i don't subscribe to the Max Power brigade, in any case i disagree with you totally. I don't think for one second that a scooby is a just plain old car and the type 25 is not a bad looking motor imo. As for supercars being more of interest that may be the case but scoobys are within most peoples grasp to own and give tremendous bang per buck!! The type 25 is also within a lot of peoples grasp and is seriously quick, Massive bang per buck and much quicker than a lot of so called supercars. Do you own a supercar or ever owned a Scooby?

Sorry, I wasn't saying you were a chav just that that is the sort of thing they'd come out with. As you say "I don't think for one second...". You, you don't think, but then you're a petrolhead so you appreciate these things more. To the rest of the population they just think "Subaru... boy racer... chav... etc", whereas cars like Ferrari's, Lambos, Porsches, etc turn the heads of non-petrolheads and impress / interest them more. When you pull up outside a nightclb on a Friday night which do you think the (average, non petrol-headed) women will be more interested in, the Impreza or the Ferrari?

As for Imprezas being within peoples grasps and give tremendous bang for buck, well again, most people aren't going to be interested in their performance. To people on here, like you and me, they give great performance for the money bt we care about things like that. The Type 25 is still a £40k car, it's only going to appeal to the diehard as people spending that kind of money have other options.

And no, I don't own an Impreza, my brother does which I've driven a fait bit but even he's got to the stage where he wants to trade it in and get something with a little more prestige.

I've had cars with Prestige, Top end Audi A8, Lexus 430, S Type Jag and so on. I can honestly say although they were very nice to drive long distances, turn the odd head, have lots of gadgets and make for very relaxed driving they were no fun at all.

It may be that i am going through a mid life crisis or something like that but from the moment i drove a scooby i loved it. The handling, point to point speed and those very stealthy looks. These days that does it a lot more for me than wafting around or being flashy in supercars as beautiful as they are. I don't think 40k is a lot for a car these days and the type 25 fits my brief perfectly so it is likely i will have one next year. There are only 2 cars in life i want right now and thats the Type 25 and an Ariel Atom. They may or may not turn heads but that's not why i want one, i am more interested in the experience to be had and the way they drive. That'll do for me
