I bought myself one of these rare Q cars for a long term project thumbup

You might not have seen one before, but its the J-Spec version of the GS300 with the biggest baddest engine Toyota had lying around at the time. The 2JZ-GTE 3.0 Twin Turbo, same as the Supra.

By eck are they quick in standard trim bow Not much happens till about 4k rpm then it just wafts off in the distance with a slight additional wwsshhh type noise as the horizon rapidly encroaches.

Allegedly "only" 280bhp in standard but I bet a dyno run will prove that a conservative underestimate. For something that weighs 1860kg it don't half fly. Currently bog standard spec waftomatic, cruise, air, electric everything of course.

Now for the fun part biggrin

I'm looking for a 2 way diff for it, some coilovers, a R154 gearbox & JZ bellhousing to convert it manual. Having spoken to Windymiller at Universal Turbo's about upgrades & other wind related stuff it would apear something like a T51 or GT40 would fit quite nicely for a sensible 500bhp. The guys at RHDJapan have some adjutsable suspension arms & bits that would do the job too, so maybe an uber stealth bomber drift machine is on the cards smokin

Toyota also make towbars for em biggrin

Needs some wheels IMO, nothing outragous though to keep the Q car aspect

Yep 1860kg!! cost me £2500 brought back from NI & will have to re-reg & tax it here. So a bargain superbarge for the money.

I did give the engine bay a clean up as it was dusty but otherwise it was super clean. Interior is excellent, its on the veleour hehe & completely stock standard.

Have sourced some coilovers from RHDJapan & some big ass wheels are on their way.

Er, sounds like it's in TTC mode. Put it back into sequential mode and it'll deliver the goods from idle.

The manual conversion appears to be a hell of a lot of dosh, speaking to Supra owners who've had it done and it sounds like you won't get much change from £4000.
Ahh no its much cheaper and easier than that wink

Bellhousing £250 from Japan, MK3 Supra R154 box £300, ECU diddle (easy) clutch pedal from a Supra (cheap) & a weekends work should have it sorted.

Whats TTC mode by the way? its obviously currently set as standard & I assume it can be rigged to run as a twin? If not its out with old in with a big single biggrin though I'd do a 1JZ head conversion as that makes life cheap & easy.

In that case work out how much a 6spd conversion is & you can do mine!
Pretty sure we are talking about the R154 5 speed conversion Gaz. The V160/V161 is a different ball game.

keep it for a short while Gaz, then sell it on less the AP 6 pots.

I must say though, it really is a fantastic car. I am more than a little shocked by it!
