This seems to be starting to pick up pace, just what i like to seebiggrin

OK, 8/9th March, have we got a possible location or should we get some suggestions going? I was thinking possibly Elan Valley in Mid-Wales? Wales Scoobynet used it in the summer and it was a great location and very central with lots of parking, although this time of the year it may not be such a great location. Maybe something else would suit, its only a suggestion.

What we did whenever we did it last time (was it last year or the year before?) was we all met up at a central location had a sedate country drive, went out for a drink, stayed in a B&B and then another sedate country drive on the sunday.

I think Betys-y-coed has been mentioned?

I had a stillborn event planned in Wales two years ago, happy to help out with organization. The plan was based around the EVO triangle & surrounding roads.... betws-y-coed if I remember correctly

Betws is beautiful any time of the year but it does get pretty busy at times. Bloody Tourists!! biggrin

How about on the beach in North Wales.....maybe Pensarn Beach, Abergele. It's a shingle beach and you can drive onto it. Huge big area too and when the weather is nice it's lovely. Then you're not far off some very nice country roads taking you past Conwy and onto Betws.

Another nice place is the car park at the cafe at the bottom of Snowden on the Llanberis Road, that's a lovely spot too and fantastic views of the mountain pass with the odd show of fighter jets from RAF Valley doing low level manouvers below you eek

and near Betws and up the hill there is a big hotel with a huge car park opposite Swallow Falls and there are stunning views of the falls and a nice cafe/picnic area there too.

There is lots to choose from.

North wales is about 30million hours from me so not terribly convenient, but if the majority want it I'll do it.

I particularly like the beach idea. Aside from a moment or two leaving Sandown Park kart circuit in Esher my Impreza has never had anything other than tarmac under its' wheels...

It's a shingle beach and nobody ever gets stuck on there unless you go right to the water where it is beach and off the shingle going west along the beachg it eventually turns to sand, but the shingle area is just fine! wink
