Mitsubishi Starion
Discussion
After all my questions the other day about the mkIII supra and being so adament about getting one I thought I'd throw this question in to see what happens.
I was offered to view the above today as I was on the subject of old japs cars to a colleague but know next to nothing about them.
Anyone got the patience this evening to inform me?
Cheers guys (again)

I truely love the Starion!
My grandfather owned one for years and it was great. Very quick and handled well, reliable too considering it was getting on a bit. The bodywork can be an issue and parts are very difficult to come by and not cheap.
My grandfathers was off the road due to the welding that was required, i talked him into keeping it for me until i had bought a new house with space to park a spare car. I was going to turn it into a track car, possibly drift, but he got rid of it a month or so before i managed to find something, i was gutted to say the least
They are well worth a look!

get the Starion - more personality and
whats it like in the handling/sideways department?I suspect they go sideways quite easilly. Supra mk3 is more like a Nissan 300zx its a tourer luxo barge, I don't mean that in a bad way just that they are different beasts.
do your research on the owners club sites

whats it like in the handling/sideways department?I dont know how easy it is on the limit but my grandfather did spin it once so you can without a doubt get the tail out.
Also Clarkson bought one during a Topgear "what coupe can you buy for £1500 test" and the stig took it around the test track in the midlands, cant remember which, and it seemed to go well. Its worth trying to find a link to it and its shown regularly on DAVE

have a look at Mazda RX-7 1978-1985 FB model as it's miles better at handling, power, economy and its rotary engined.
I thought about that model but don't really know enough about the rotary engine to be confident buying one.Too late anyway, I've bought a starion, collecting it in a few hours and will post some pics as soon as.
sideways city here I come!

good choice if you ask me, would favor it over the Supra, has more character.
I think parts will be your only problem, not that it wil be a big problem being jap!
Let us know about the one you are going to see!
Bought!! not that bothered about the availability of parts as I have a second car.I think parts will be your only problem, not that it wil be a big problem being jap!
Let us know about the one you are going to see!
