ah, mine wasnt due for another 9 days!
just rolled in this afternoon so had to go in for a looky/sit in/fire her up biggrin
not picking it up till Sept 1st though, as its '62' registration/insurance etc is already sorted out to begin then..

hopefully take it out on trade plates soon though, once its been through the workshop/prep etc. though im also having it detailed, so it'll be off for that soon enough! .. cant wait to pop back and see it properly shiney biggrin

pretty chuffed insurance wise, £280! (vs the £800 i was paying on my 06 plate S2000!)..this cheap to run 'sports' car is already proving so wink

I'll be 'detailing' mine on receipt. Snow lance procured in preparation. wink

Insurance v similar. biggrin I'm getting a £15 refund on the £300 I shelled out on the zed earlier in the year.

I'm hoping to pick mine up 1 September too - mine's a ginger one though.

Enjoy. thumbup

Not standard, the Lightweight came with steelies, bit like the new budget GT86. They're mag alloy 7X17" et 47 Oz Roulettes, very light and strong. I personally love them, they replace 15" versions of the same wheel. Those were for go, these are more for show rotate

I will be very interested to hear your thoughts, i have an S2k at the moment and thinking about doing the same. Test drove the GT86 at Goodwood and loved it, would be good to hear some real world comparisons between the two.

cheers john boy.. same with yours..

I've always thought myself the ST185 has ages very well, still looks quite fresh smile

The Lightweight version differs from the standard with

No rear wiper
non color coded door handles (good for at least 5kg)
no aerial in the rear near side spoiler spat
dimpled vinyl head lining instead of material
no sunroof
narrow body only

none of the above are really important or particularly relevant (or even weight saving)

The big difference is the E152F gearbox that was made for rallying. very short 1st 4 gears and long 5th for cruising between stages etc.. Very sought after and rare

in the real world.... it's a pain in the ass. 4th is almost identical to 3rd and 5th is as long as a long thing. 4th tops out at 80mph @ 7k and then into 5th, boost falls off, revs disappear and any progress is lost; so it's fast up to 80 and then I give up.

Wouldn't change it for anything though biggrin

Off to Rally Day tomorrow, feel free to drop by the GT4OC stand and say how do byebye
