My Celica ST205 and new addition, my Celica ST165.

The Celica ST165 has been totally stripped to the last nut and bolt and rebuilt.

Good news...

...the engine and gearbox are brilliant.

Bad news...

...the rear underside is nothing but rust, holes and a nice Stainless Steel exhaust at least.

The black one will be a parts donor for the silver one as planned. rolleyes
Always wanted to try one of these

Nobody has bought any bits yet and I've found a replacement box for mine if you'd like it for £400

The floor and subframe is rusty. To do it properly the rear suspension has to come off and be blasted/prep'd/painted while you weld up the floor. It can be bodged or "wheeler dealer'd" if you weld the visible holes and paint the suspension whilst on the car.

The black bonnet is in much better shape than my silver one. I don't want to paint it matte and this time of year is too humid to paint it silver. Gloss black bonnet on a silver car?

What do we think?

Gloss black bonnet will only work if you have other black details on the car.

Smooth boot lid could work. But I'll stop there so I can paint them the correct colour or respray the whole car next year. smile

I've always had a thang for those little kei wagons.
Are they as tipply/topply as they look or more planted than they appear?

Avert your eyes if you are easily upset...

...my neighbors thought they'd smash the rear window and fill it with crap while I was at work.

The rear subframe came away from the floor when it was lifted. yikes I drove it home from Norwich and it felt fine!

Gone for good but all for a good cause.

Karma eh?

As punishment for the way I mistreated the black FTO the silver one has wheel nuts like this...

...Pro-Comp M12 x 1 1/5

I've seen them before and thought it would be easy to get the key for them, but it turns out nowhere in the UK sells them any more so I had to get one from Summit Racing California to send one to my mate in Florida and forward it to me. Japanese car with American wheel nuts. banghead

I'm beginning to think the Sebring wheels aren't after market ones at all but from a Chrysler Sebring. Just as well they look okay on the car.

I probably should do a thread for the car as it's not going to be the quick turn around I expected.

They look very similar to the Driftworks splined wheel nuts. Have you tried them?

I hadn't thought about Driftworks. Why would people fit drift parts to a front wheel drive car? silly

Driftworks don't sell the keys separately so I'll wait for the one from Summit Racing to arrive (by the end of the week with any luck).
