Looks like a lot of work. And rather than being a naysayer, I'd argue that with the amount of attention to detail displayed on the body, the rest of the project will be an absolute monster.

Weight loss will be a benefit of immense proportion, particularly in motorsports, so any small loss the can achieve will be useful, and when you add up a bunch of small losses, the overall figure will no doubt be impressive.

Congrats to these guys on a great project. I'm really looking forward to seeing the result.

Holy mother of all that is insane!!! Love it...maximum respect to these guys, but what's the bill going to be???

As for the turbo...are you sure that's not the new Honda jet-engine???

That is one seriously cool car, I imagine once done with everything they've stripped off it that is going to be totally mental. That turbo is HUGE yikes

some of the pics don't appear to work for me frown

Amazing project, gotta love it, but....

All that work and effort - new carbon body etc - and they're using stock Supra brakes???

They look lost in those wheels!

For the sake of probably half the cost of one of those doors you could have a trick brake setup with monster disks...

Is it just me that thinks this is actually quite silly?? Even on slicks its not going to be particularily tractable? Doesnt look like it was running any trick tyres before, so it must be slower than stock as surely the power just spins away?
Nope. The choice of turbo & output was questioned by everyone else too. The silver JDM car is just a donor chassis, the red German car is going to be donating it's LHD parts and a black JDM car is donating it's engine and gearbox before being sold as a rolling chassis.

The carbon car runs rediculously wide wheels and tyres -11x18 with 315/30R18 Rear
9,5x18 with 265/35R18 Front

Hoosier Slicks on both

Unless it's carrying a passenger, the black car appears to be LHD already.

Why not mod that one further and save all the cocking around building a fresh car?

That surprised me too, a bigger set with 6/4 pots front/rear and aluminium bells would be better and lighter I'd have thought.

I have my answer.

To remain road legal the car has to have oem brakes.
With massive weight savings, the oem brakes are probably (possibly) sufficient

Personally, I'd probably be a bit wary, 1,350bhp is enough power to break through the earths gravitational field I think hehe

Hmmm...I can just see the conversation with the Norwegian authorities now:-

Mad tuner: So we can fit a turbo the size of a small town?
Jobsworth in gov't: Yes, go ahead, that's permitted, you've submitted certificate FU-123-Z.
MT: And we can change every single body panel?
Jobsworth: If you want to...it's not on my prohibited list.
MT: What about the interior? Can we strip it and cage it?
Jobsworth: Hmmm...[flicks through list]...induction, inspection, invaders-from-mars...nope, nothing against that either.
MT: And we can change the suspension, the steering, and the wheels?
Jobsworth: Yes, yes, yes. Have you finished yet? I've got another appointment in 5 minutes!
MT: Not quite, we want to change the brakes...
Jobsworth: [sucks air through teeth] Brakes you say. Now that's going to be a problem...
