New BMW's getting stolen using blank BMW keys

I stayed up later than normal and ranted on the Facebook BMW UK page to help raise awareness, so far in 10 days I've managed to get 8 people to visit BMW!!

Wouldn't mind if people could like and comment to raise as much awareness as possible....

Mine is having the security update at the minute. But my concern is that any would be thief won't know the update has been done until they damage my door and then just walk away after the failed attempt. It's a shame the update doesnt include something visible, like changing the door handle for a different looking one, then at least they won't damage the car before they realise they can't go any further.

Just to get this straight - does the update do anything other than code out the window drop from the key?

As I understand it, you won't be able to reprogramme another key without the original being in the dashboard.

The updated Cas file means an old key needs to be present in the slot. The window drop is just coding
