Thought you'd like to see some shots of this beast:

Cover & lead feature in this months Performance BMW, thoroughly reworked 3 coupe: "357Ci" a nod to the 430bhp LS1 lump underbonnet. Its, er, quite quick biggrin

It was meant as a polite nod to the thread in Reader's Cars wink

The point is the owner is already on here and the car is quite well known.

I see no reason for offence from anyone but I'm not sure the mag will not be too thrilled with you posting their pics unless they just see it as promotional.

From a very personal point of view though, the work and effort gone in to it is superb, but its no longer a BMW. The heart has been replaced with a Yank V8. Its lost all it's class. It should have had a BMW V8 in it at least to remain a BMW. A 357i was also done with the BMW V12 in the E36 compact.

More a Max Power feature car than a BMW dedicated publication.

An M5 S62 V8 with 400+ bhp would be nice too and still keep a little mpg sanity.

Top mod would be the new X5/X6/M5 4.4 V8 though with 550 bhp, modern emissions compliance and reasonable fuel economy, and its still a BMW. Now THAT would be a tool!!

And so you should! It's your choice, your work and has been done extremely well.

My comments were from a personal perspective and in no way a critiscism.

29mpg is fantastic and really unexpected, maybe the torque means the engine doesnt have to work hard! I bet thats not an average though? Cmon, tell the truth now!

Mag plenty happy, as I took the pics for them and it was published a couple of weeks ago! biggrin

Think 'max power' is very harsh, its a properly engineered car and isn't covered in bling body mods. BM V8 might be nice but pricier, and the LS offers huge tuning potential - charger = reliable 500-600bhp.....

Low 20's is the average, it's the rear tyres that are the problem 5 sets of rears in 2000 miles...

I'm quite pleased to have found these pics as the original build thread pics seems to have stopped working.

They're good pics too.
