I've done the deed, picking up a new 3.0D M Sport next weekend. It was one of several new un reg cars the dealer had in stock and was able to get it on 3.9% finance.
Spec as follows Black sapphire Black Nevada Media package DAB radio 20 inch 333M wheels Folding mirrors Heated front seats Sun protection glass,
pretty happy with the spec ideally would have preferred uprated speaker system but may do that later

I went back to where I bought my wifes Z4 last year and just got chatting, never even looked at a 2nd hand one in the end, I trawled through BMW AUC for weeks on the net but was surprised with the very competitive finance deal plus huge discount. No trade in obviously helped

It brightens up the inside no end on gloomy days, feels cooler in summer too (although my aircon is in need of a service - less of an issue otherwise), still have black headlining though - IMO it's a must.

I've been offered a similar spec 40d with 7 seats on the same sort of low rate + big discount deal and I'm tempted. I'd be trading both an E65 730d and X3 3.0SD for this purely as a family car and I'd like to think this would deliver the best of both worlds...

early days only done 125 miles but loving the driving position, very different from previous cars I've had. I'll give a further update when I get a few miles under my belt

I just bought one as a built but unregistered car, same spec as yours but with 7 seats, pano roof, Camera and service pack in the colour we wanted. The deal included part-exing our X3 and with dealer incentives, over book on the X3 I managed to get nearly 15% off list It also made financial sense to buy new for us rather than nearly new I'm not going to quote finance on the web but think we also managed to get a lower APR than has been quoted, which they simply can't do on a used car.

My Dad's daily is a 4.0d M Sport and on the odd occasion I've driven it I've been staggered by the performance it offers.
Why is the steering so light though? You can go lock to lock using 1 finger on the wheel. I didn't particularly like that.
Staggering that a car so large will get you up to 60 in not much more than 6 seconds!!!
Spec wise it has Media, head up display, the internet and mobile app stuff, individual audio (i don't know what's individual about it), pro nav, bluetooth, powered boot, oscillating seats, reverse camera, soft close doors and comfort access, comfort seats, TV and active cruise. I think that's it and all the options are pretty useful actually.
Generally a nice place to be and a more 'car-like' ride than any other 4x4 ive been in.

OK I've confirmed an order myself now. 40d M Sport Space Grey / Oyster Leather Third Row Seating Panoramic Roof Media Pack / DAB / Business Loudspeaker 20" 333M Folding mirrors Reversing cam with top view Heated front seats Sun protection glass Service pack Will collect next weekend probably I wanted black with oyster or blackb/black but simply couldn't get one of these already in stock with third-row seating (mandatory for me) Discount was about 15% for me too... and 3.9%... and reasonable trade values on E65 and X3

Fox- said: Doing less miles... buys diesel Should have said less miles than the 30k business miles per annum I was doing. The other car is a 996 Turbo S and Mrs Ashway has a 3.0 Z4 so not all bad;)
