Lights package is additional interior lighting and lights in the door handles - I think! It is on an E90 anyway.
I've got a RADSCHRAUBENSICHERUNG, which disappointingly is a "Lug bolt retainer".

I can imagine furious germans screaming that at each other in the factory when they run out of lug bolt retainers. biggrin

Just downloaded my list... one query, does anyone know the code for the light ecru nappa leather on an e46 individual? I'm hoping to get the seats reconditioned shortly and I need the colour code e.g. Z1XX, can't find it listed anywhere including realoem.

Failing that anyone with a BMW individual brochure lying about from 2004 wink

Is anyone else finding that the BMW "electronic parts catalogue" website is down? All I'm getting is "URL not found" frown

Which one?

The official BMW one, the BMWinfo one, the RealOEM one?

The genuine, BMW, VIN decoder/build sheet site (https://www.parts.bmwgroup.com/tetis/index.jsp?DOMAIN=Internet - username 'eu111111' / password 'bmwetk1') has been up and down all week due to maintenance - the time of which is mentioned on the page itself.

It's working now.

Very good find this is.

But does anyone know how I can find out which options weren't selected?

I think it has been always working, but you have to remove the space in your reg number.

Great find this and thanks for posting. I've just checked my '57 plate 320i touring. Does anyone have a translator for the codes? Although the name of the option gives me a clue, I'm interested to know exactly what's included:

The ones I'm interested in specifically are:

431 INTERIOR RR VW MIRROR W AUT ANTI-D - is this anti glare?
441 SMOKERS PACKAGE - What is this? Is it just the ashtray?
644 PREP. FOR. MOB. PH. BLUET. INTERF. - presume this is bluetooth?
663 RADIO BMW PROFESSIONAL - is this an extra option? If so what does it include?
8SP COP CONTROL - No idea what this is?
877 DELETION CROSS-OVER OPERATION - No idea what this is?

Thanks for any pointers.

Auto dipping rear view mirror - goes dark at night to reduce the glare from cars behind you with bright heasdlights.
Yes, cigar lighter and ashtray instead of 12v power socket and coin tray or cupholder.
Yes, bluetooth.
Business is the standard radio, professional has a better amplifier built in and depending on year also plays MP3 discs.

No idea about COP control either, sorry, or the cross-over operation.

8SP is to do with Coil on Plug (COP) ignition rather than using a traditional distributor. Its possible that its a bit of a hang over from earlier cars
877 is related to emissions "None user selectable"

I think both are related to the good quality fuel we have here, or rather the lack of bad quality fuel. In other markets cars are required to run on all sorts of rubbish so have subtle changes to allow this in design and mapping,

Neither are unusual or exciting!

Thanks both, that's very useful. I haven't had a chance to drive the car at night so haven't had the benefit of the auto dimming mirror. I only noticed the courtesy door handle lights by chance the other day as I had forgotten something in the car and had to retreieve it at night.

Thanks again.

The auto dipping mirror took me a while to get used to, I kept reaching for a leaver that wasnt there. It also has two red LEDs that shine onto your left hand when you're changing gear which are also off putting to start with. Either that or I am being targetted by a _very_ good sniper.

Well, I'm totally lost - does it not work on an iPad? I've bumbled my way in to the parts catalogue, and clicking options just gives me a list of every option code for every model BMW make or have made!

Not wanting to knock the OP, the method of getting in has changed.

Not tried this for a while, seems they've totally changed their web pages.

This works though- http://www.bmwvin.com/
