The problem is they're all old now; you could buy a set and they might turn out to be 20 years old like mine )and therefore unsafe IMO). I've just found a source for the now discontinued Dunlop SP2000 for £57 each- not worth mucking about!

Nice work!

The 2000E's are pretty good tyres and £57 is peanuts for what is still a quality tyre. A pity that the metric wheels on these and the E28 M535i cannot be fitted with imperial rubber because they're nice looking wheels. There is so little meat on the rims that they just cannot be milled down a few mm. I did however know a clown that fitted 15 inch tyres to E34 metrics - plenty of rubber grease and about 150 psi in a commercial vehicle tyre cage. He drove the car with them on as well. Bloody idiot.

I once drove an E39 520d as a hire car in Europe, 136 bhp 320d engine. It wasn't bad.
