Hi all.

I take delivery of a 330d in a few weeks and am pretty excited. Was massively impressed by the performance in a test drive a few weeks back and put an order down as soon as I got back.

Was just curious if anyone had remapped one yet, and if so what increase in power, economy they had seen? To be honest I'm not looking to do this in the short term, but it's always nice to know what potential extra horses can be squeezed out. I have seen a number of tuning box add-ons but unless times have changed I will always stay away from these products.

Thanks
Macca

I'd wait till some of the more known companies get their hands on one to see the final figures..

The E90 was good for 300hp/500lbft so I would imagine that's the least you would get from it.

Never thought this was the kind of forum where I'd have to justify a desire for more power.

Quite. I mean why not?!

I've been looking out too. Have only found tuning boxes so far. Would love to get something hooked into the drive performance control thing. Standard power on Comfort mode, 300 bhp in Sport +

wait till you get it, its got more than enough for day to day use, across country it will come down to how good a peddler you are, i havnt found the std output wanting yet, properly as quick on normal roads as my track car, not as savage in its delivery and a lot quieter

Perhaps the 330d doesn't need it, but the 320d does. Pushing 220+ bhp, with a much better punch from lower down, and 59.5 mpg across Europe.

Most people report better throttle response, coupled with DPF delete/air filter + exhaust, can really unleash the potential.

Generally the cars are turned for all conditions, and not for any one climate, fuel type or driving style.

You can argue that anything over 200 bhp is too much. Why do people buy 500+ bhp Mercs?

If you can, go for it. Speak to AmD in Essex for their advice on your car.

@turbospud I will wait until I get it, hence the reason I said not in the short term. While I wouldn't profess to be a driving god, i've done plenty of track/airfield days and am always interested in extracting a bit more performance out of my cars.

@stuart-b Thanks for the response, when/if the time comes I'll give AMD a shout.

I was lucky enough to get a 330D for a day and had nothing but a smile on my face for the entire day. Can't wait, just hope the promised delivery date doesn't slip. I got mine with adaptive suspension, did you opt for that too? If so what are you thoughts? I wasn't able to get a test drive in a vehicle with it fitted, but went back to back in a comfort and msport model and felt that I needed the benefits of both as this will also be a long distance family wagon.

Guy i know has an f30 330d and an m3 coupe (v8). His view is that the torque in the 330d makes it as fast in real world as his m3 and he's still getting over 40mpg from it.

I actually called them the other day on this. I'm awaiting delivery of a new X3 30d with the N57T engine. They told me they hadn't done one yet, so would require bringing it in for the day to see what they can get.
I too have only found bolt-on cips for these.
I haven't called DMS, however.
I called Evolve as they did the tune on my M5 back in the day. Top bunch of blokes over there.

He doesn't know how to drive his M3.

Cool, I went for the 330d luxury, with visibility pack, comfort pack, media package bmw professional, heated seats and adaptive suspension.

It's so easy to tick the boxes, only thing I was tempted by that I didn't opt for was the adaptive steering but I'd gone from a budget of a 320d originally.

Just hope it turns up soon. What was your lead time?
